Screaming Toddler...?

In the past few weeks my son has started SCREAMING at the top of his lungs when he doesnt get what he wants. He likes to try to get into the fridge.(hes not allowed and he knows it) so when I open the fridge he usually comes running to it...I close it befour he is able to get into it, when I do so...he runs the other way screaming like hes being abducted. Thats just one example...he does this everytime I stop him from doing something hes not supposed to. I dont know what to do about it. I try ignoring it, because then maybe he'll realize that hes not getting any attention when he does it...that has failed because then he sometimes will scream untill I do something about it...ive tried getting really stern with him looking him in the eyes and telling him no screaming...sometimes when I do that he screams again. I feel like I have no control over him. I just wish he would stop the screaming, but I dont know any ways to teach him he needs to stop, and thats not the right way to get attention. Hes 1 1/2, pretty much well rounded and reaching his milestones on time...just the screaming...any advice?? Thanks!!!
